Age : 16 at the beginning ( Class 11

Dream : to become a doctor

Background: A brilliant, hardworking girl studying at Starlight International School through a scholarship. She lost her parents and younger brother in a tragic car accident when she was 11. Since then, she has lived with her Dada (grandfather), chacha, and chachi.

Personality: Quiet, humble, determined, with a heart full of resilience. Though her chacha’s family mistreats her, she carries herself with dignity. She hides her pain behind silence but dreams of a brighter future.

Appearance: Naturally beautiful  almond-shaped eyes, glowing skin, long black hair in a braid, and a grace that makes her stand out without even trying

RAYYAN KHAN

Age : 17 at the beginning ( Class 12 )

Dream: To eventually take over his father’s business 📸, though his passion lies in photography.

Background: Belongs to a very wealthy family. He’s admired for his good looks, charm, and talent with the camera. Despite the popularity, he feels something missing , until he sees Umeed for the first time.

Personality: Confident, playful, but deeply sensitive. He has a protective side and a heart that values emotions more than wealth.

Appearance: Tall, handsome, with sharp features and expressive eyes. Always carrying his camera, he sees the world differently , through frames, lights, and hidden stories.

Supporting Characters

Anisha Khan

Age: 16

Class: 11 (same as Umeed)

Background: Rayyan’s cousin and Umeed’s best friend. She is the bridge between them and often the one who teases Rayyan about his growing feelings.

Personality: Cheerful, dramatic, and protective of Umeed. She adds laughter and light to Umeed’s heavy life but can also be serious when it comes to Umeed’s happiness.

Appearance: Stylish, full of energy, always experimenting with hairstyles and accessories.

Saif

Age: 17

Class: 12 (same as Rayyan)

Background: Umeed’s cousin. Arrogant, proud, and cruel toward her. He never misses a chance to insult her at school or home.

Personality: Jealous and entitled. Looks down on Umeed for being a “scholarship girl.”

Appearance: Tall, broad-shouldered, carries himself with arrogance.

Dada (Grandfather)

Background: The only true family Umeed has left. Though old and frail, he supports her dreams with all his heart and stands up for her when others don’t. His words, “You are your parents’ dream, beta. Never let it die,” guide her every step.

Personality: Wise, loving, protective, and deeply respected by Umeed.

Chacha & Chachi

Background: Umeed’s uncle and aunt, who took her in after her parents’ death. They treat her more like a burden than family. Chachi especially taunts and makes her do housework.

Personality: Strict, bitter, and unsupportive.
